I do what I love, I love what I do
“Everyone must leave something behind when he dies", my grandfather said. "A child or a book or a painting or a house or a wall built or a pair of shoes made. Or a garden planted. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die, and when people look at that tree or that flower you planted, you're there. It doesn't matter what you do, he said, so long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it into something that's like you after you take your hands away.” ~Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
My name is Adanary Jacques, I believe I've been placed here to do a number of things. Along with that purpose comes a desire, a desire to leave my mark.
Next to being the mother of 3 teenagers, Victoria, Olivia and Julian, there is nothing better for me than telling the story of a wedding day through my photos, watching a mom shed a tear while looking at her beautiful child captured in my images, sharing with people the most special moments in life! That's my mark, my awesome kids and memorable photography, one picture at a time!
Why Luz de Luna?
Over the course of life we form relationships where we give and receive. Helping each other reach our potential.
During a road trip, at a turning point in my life, I witnessed a setting sun in my rearview mirror as the full moon was rising in the horizon ahead of me. I found I was in the middle of this scene, surrounded by vibrant shades of pink, red, and orange, literally, the gateway between a disintegrated marriage and my new life. I could tell you how much I cried, but it isn't important anymore. I wasn't sad, just overwhelmed with all of the emotions known to mankind. The whole panorama was breathtaking.
Their unique relationship has always fascinated me, the sun and moon's. But that day, at that moment, I had an epiphany and a new perspective as I began this next chapter in my life. The timing was perfect, clear as day it hit me, the moon's light is not her own but merely a reflection of the sun's radiance! The Sun's light illuminating the moon, bringing her out of the darkness. A perfectly symbolic and, yes, romantic reminder of how we can glow when we stand opposite of something, or someone, luminous empowering us to be who we are meant to be. In that light of the moon I saw my children, my family, my friends, my mentors, the inherent goodness in my life and all that inspires me. It wasn't the end - I am here - and life is better!
I'm thankful for that experience, for God's generous grace and for all of you who have been there from day one, now, and sometime in between, in front of my camera, beside me, behind me and opposite of me. I get to do what I do, all because of you.
"I love light, I love my camera and I love people. I will see what makes you special, what makes you shine, what makes you You in that place, at that moment." I'll create images that you and those who mean most to you can treasure forever.
I would love to meet you and discuss your photography needs.
